Laura McGough is a media historian, curator,  and educator.  She has organized exhibitions, screenings, performances and streaming content for arts organizations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia focusing on emerging technologies, gender and cinematic + media arts practices.

She received an M.A. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from New York University, a PhD from the Department of Media Study at the University at Buffalo (2018).

Laura is currently working on a series of essays entitled “Sun is the Oldest TV” which traces a hidden history of video art through artist experiments with phosphor, fluorescence and light.
