Laura McGough is a media art historian, curator, and educator currently based in Buffalo, NY. She has organized exhibitions, screenings, performances and streaming content for arts organizations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia focusing on emerging technologies, gender and experimental cinematic + media arts practices.
She received an M.A. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from New York University and is completing a PhD in the Department of Media Study at the University at Buffalo where she teaches courses within the film studies concentration.
Her current research focuses on the live transmission and the turn to liveness within contemporary cinema and media arts.
